Explore the destination

Lăng Cô is the superlative coastal destination in Central Vietnam. Thanks to a combination of its natural scenic appeal and pleasant tropical climate, it has been rated as one of the most beautiful bays in the world by Worldbays Club. The beauty of Lăng Cô was originally discovered by King Khai Dinh, the 12th reigning Emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty, in 1916 when he passed by during his pilgrimage to Quang Nam.

As well as being widely hailed for its pristine beaches, Lăng Cô features many attractions that contribute to the diversity of natural landscapes, including Lap An Lagoon, Hai Van Pass, Canh Duong Beach and Bach Ma Mountain.

In addition to its own stunning landscape, Lăng Cô neighbours three renowned UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the historical former capital city of Hue; the charming ancient town of Hoi An; and the Cham Kingdom sanctuaries at My Son, which feature a wealth of temples and monuments. The proximity to these cultural hubs marks Lăng Cô as an ideal destination for cultural exploration.

What’s new at Laguna Lăng Cô?

An historic handover ceremony took place at the Angsana Ballroom on May 26. On that auspicious day, the increasing investment capital certification and casino license of Laguna Lăng Cô were presented by Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Mr Nguyen Van Cao, to Banyan Tree Holdings’ Executive Chairman, Mr Ho Kwon Ping. This milestone teed-off Laguna Lăng Cô’s ambitious project expansion (2018 to 2022) that will see an increased investment capital from US$875 million to US$2 billion and include a casino boasting 200 live tables and 2,000 slot machines. Once completed, Laguna Lăng Cô will further add to its array of offerings with two or three new luxury hotels, MICE facilities, prime private residences, non-seasonal attractions, sporting and entertainment activities and a casino centre. All of the above will increase global awareness of the resort and allow it to be promoted as an integrated holiday destination.

On June 2, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam and its authorised dealer, An Du Autohaus, handed over two Mercedes E-200 cars to Laguna Lăng Cô. The luxury vehicles join the Laguna Lăng Cô fleet of high-end, chauffeur-driven cars expanding the five-star experience for visitors during their stay here.

“After five years of operation with a host of milestones to celebrate, Laguna Lăng Cô continues to go from strength to strength as an ideal integrated holiday destination. The casino license and the partnership with Mercedes-Benz Vietnam are the next wonderful steps in our evolution. Our goal is to provide an outstanding experience to guests and to become recognised as the most luxurious resort in Vietnam,” said Mr Gavin Herholdt, Managing Director of Laguna Lăng Cô.

‘Doing good is not extra; it must be the rules of business’, so says Ms Claire Chiang, Chairperson of the Banyan Tree Global Foundation. At Laguna Lăng Cô, we are committed to being a leader in sustainability within Vietnam’s hospitality industry. Not only is this our ambition, but also one of our Group’s core values.

Following are among the recent highlights of Laguna Lăng Cô’s CSR programme:

  • Presenting artworks by 24 disabled and under-privileged young artists, the 4th Silent World Artwork Exhibition (April 19 - May 25) was hosted at the lobby of Angsana Lăng Cô. The exhibition raised VND 32,490,000 from the sale of more than 70 artworks and 100 pieces of handicraft.
  • ‘English Is Fun’ and ‘Reading Is Fun’ are activities that were organised to support local children. As part of the ‘Reading Is Fun’ programme (February to June), we were pleased to receive the donation of almost 600 children’s books. These were passed on to the local school with the intention of helping to instill a passion for reading among local children. ‘English Is Fun’ is our continuous programme to build up a desire among local children to learn English. In August, we will present a graduation party for all 170 students who participated in our English classes during this programme.
